About IPlayArena

IPlayArena was founded as a Luso-Brazilian initiative connecting the technology scene of Braga, Portugal, with the software development community in Brazil. Our platform was built from the ground up to support independent game developers — giving them a distribution channel that respects their work and connects them directly with players worldwide.

At the core of our infrastructure is the AbyssalEngine, our proprietary JavaScript and TypeScript game engine built on ECS (Entity Component System) architecture. It runs 100% in the browser and supports export to WebGL, HTML5, and native targets. IPlayArena is the primary showcase for games built with the AbyssalEngine.

We believe the web browser is the most democratic gaming platform in existence. No gatekeepers, no mandatory app stores, no hardware requirements beyond a modern browser. Our goal is to keep it that way — free, open, and instant.
